Metalic Monday... By M

It can’t get any better if you have your favorite pair of jeans and button-up shirt in the same outfit. I fell in love with these jeans as soon as I saw them on Karlie Kloss during Fashion’s Night Out. Back in September I wrote a post on them in Two Clouds in the Sky as a trend alert and I was definitely right. After a long month of trying to convince my parents these were the perfect pair of jeans and I needed them in my closet. I finally came up with the money and I did not wait a second to get them. I first  struggled to find ways to style them but after a wile it was like they had been mine forever. Because these jeans make a big statement  it is best if you pair them up with a simple shirt and shoes. Some people might say buying GOLDEN jeans is a huge risk, but to all those people I encourage them to take the risk. Fortunatly more and more stores are offering these types of jeans so they start to get easier and easier to find.

The slipper shoe. By S.

This week, while on a pre-Xmas shopping spree in Houston, I bought these Cole Haan slipper shoes. As soon as I walked into the Cole Haan store I was instantly drawn to them and luckily they had them in my size and were actually on sale (thank you Thanksgiving!). I had been craving for a pair of slipper shoes since the summer, in fact I had had my eye on a pair from Pretty Ballerinas while on a trip to Madrid but when I went to purchase them they had run out of them in my size. I love that these ones come in speckled haircalf with just the little extra touch of red.

Taking advantage of the sale, I decided to buy this other pair of slipper shoes as well. They are covered in black sequins and will help add a bit of sparkle to any outfit. I plan on wearing them very soon with skinny jeans and a loose black sweater.

Which of the two do you prefer??

Coco Chanel... By M

"Elegance is not the perogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future."

"Fashion is made to become unfashionable."

"Adornment, what a science! Beauty, what a weapon! Modesty, what elegance!"

"Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity."

"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future."

"Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman."

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

"Fashion passes, style remains."

"Nature gives you the face you have at twenty. Life shapes the face you have at thirty. But at fifty you get the face you deserve."

"Fashion is not simply a matter of clothes. Fashion is in the air, born upon the wind. One intuits it. It is in the sky and on the road."

Olivia Palermo in the green army jacket. By S.

Olivia palermo, the great trend setter, is a fan of the green military jacket, so popular this Autumn 2012. She wears loser and more fitted versions of the trend, keeping the rest of her outfit feminine and in neutral colors. I own a green military jacket which I bought this summer in Urban Outfitters in Berlin, you can check it out here. It's one of those items that spends more time hanging on my back than in my wardrobe!

Marion Cotillard in the new Miss Dior campaign. By S.

As soon as I saw this image of Marion Cotillard for Dior's new campaign for the Miss Dior bag, I knew I had to share it with you. Once again Cotillard is the face of the iconic bag, this time around she appears posing as an American socialite on the beaches of The Hamptons. The campaign, shot by the photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino, will be officially launched in December issues of top fashion magazines such as Elle.

Dior has been collaborating with Marion Cotillard since 2010. Take a look at this other exclusive photo shoot, also by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, where the French actress steps into some of the beautiful couture's creations designed by the great Christian Dior himself.

Just let the movies inspire you, just like they inspired the great designers of this year's fabulous runway shows.
